Priorities

Animals are not ours to eat, we do not own them, and they don’t deserve to be our slaves!  Please check out Peta2’s link here on a wicked cool wallpaper.  I love this!!!

It says “I don’t think that I’m so important that an animal has to die every time I want to eat.” – Taj Mihelich

I absolutely love this! It’s revolutionary! Thinking about it in a selfish vs. selfless way is mind-boggling, huh?  For some I’m sure you’ve always felt that way.  And I guess I have too.  I just never actually said it out loud, or so bluntly.  Vegans are selfless.  Meat-eaters are not.  Woahhh Revalation!!! Open-mouthed smile

Vegan Shampoo

My vegan shoes- Converse :)
I've lately been looking into some natural and homemade shampoos.  It's difficult to find a good, vegan shampoo nowadays.  Many companies, such as Dove or Pantene, test their products on animals.  A shampoo I've been using, V05, Is a great shampoo that doesn't test on animals, never uses any dairy products, and is also very affordable!  I would definitely look into this if you are looking for a shampoo you can buy.  It's great.  But I'm ready for something more organic and something that is even better for my hair.  So I'm trying out a few different things.  Today, I tried a neat idea from VegNews, which is to dissolve a tablespoon of baking soda in 8 oz. water, use as you would a shampoo, and then follow with a 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar.  I used white.  Honestly, my hair feels just as good as if I shampooed it.  But I feel better about it, you know?  I love using natural ingredients, because it just makes me feel so good! I feel like I'm helping the planet, animals, and my own body!  I'm trying to use homeade, natural things as often as possible, because it just brings me pure happiness! :D

Do you have any ideas for naturally cleaning hair or some other cleansing?  Have you ever tried this?

Raw Food Vegan Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Just made these no-bake, vegan cookies!  Raw foods have a wide range of health benefits and are amazing for keeping away sicknesses!!  These no-bake recipes are really good too!

Check out the link:    http://www.fromsadtoraw.com/Recipes/OatmealRaisinCookies.htm    to find the ingredients.

To make, put ingredients into a food proccessor.   (I omitted the walnuts in this part).   When fully blended, you will be able to pinch the ingredients and they will stick together.  Quick tip: I added the allspice and it was really strong when finished- I would omit that.  Once blended take out and roll into cookie shapes.  I then put a chopped walnut in the center of each.

And then you're done and you can eat them!!  They're pretty good, but like I said, if I could do them again I would omit the allspice.  You guys should try them!  What do you guys think of Raw Foods and the Raw Foods diet?  Please feel free to comment, I will answer anyone's comment. :)

Ode to Baking Soda

If there was one thing that I could never live without, it would be baking soda.  This is a magical ingredient that does just about everything.  Here is a list of some of the magical things it does.
  • clears skin as mask or face scrub
  • whitens teeth
  • helps food to rise
  • removes stains
  • can get rid of the feeling of heart burn caused by sauce if you sprinkle it in the recipe
  • can also prevent stomach pains caused by beans when cooked in.

What do you use baking soda for?
